From Andrea Bacchetti Press Office
Following his success in Milan at the Museo del Novecento (Duomo) - alongside the talented musicians of the Rai National
Symphony Orchestra's "Itaca Quartet" for the third season's fourth appointment "Costellazioni / Constellations
of Transfigured Sounds" - Bacchetti flew to Madrid for the prestigious "Piano City". There, in an
internationally renowned context, he performed the complete "First Book of Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier".
It was nearly two hours of "pure music" performed entirely from memory. "A historical interpretation",
as it was defined by both the large audience in attendance and the critics. This mirrors his previous achievement with the
second book of the Well-Tempered Clavier, which received high praise from leading international magazines, including
"Record Geijutzu" (Japan), "Pizzicato" (Netherlands), "Ritmo" (Spain), "Musical
Opinion", and "Piano News" (UK). This is not to mention his "International Classical Music Awards
(ICMA)" nomination, and the fact that "Amadeus" magazine published the live recording of the same program
performed at La Fenice in Venice.
The pianist, who has maintained a strong presence in our Tigullio region, is today considered one of the most authoritative
interpreters of Bach. This reputation stems from the recognized refinement of his performances - which have absorbed the
foundations of the rigorous classical tradition alongside a "contemporaneity" matured through his long artistic
collaboration with Luciano Berio - as well as the significant and consolidated acclaim gathered by his discography produced
by Sony International, RCA Red Seal, Decca, Arthaus Musik, Berlin, etc.
For the upcoming seasons, scheduling is underway to bring this concert to several major European musical centers and
festivals, as well as to Japan and New York.
