Tomorrow at the Conservatory
Easter Concert with Alogna and Bacchetti
BOLZANO. Tomorrow, April 1st, the Bolzano branch of the Dante Ali- ghieri Society, in collabo-
ration with "Musica in Aulis", the Lions Club Bolzano-Bozen Host, and the Monteverdi Conserva- tory, will host an Easter
Concert. The recital featu- res two exceptional musi- cians, Davide Alogna (vio- lin, pictured) and Andrea Bacchetti (piano).
Both boast prestigious ca- reers, victories in various international competitions, and recordings with the world's leading
labels.
The duo, who have per- formed together success- fully for several years, will lead the audience on a journey through the
inter- national 18th and 19th-century repertoire titled "Between Music and Elegy".
Following Giuseppe Tarti- ni's "Didone abbandonata", the Alogna-Bacchetti duo will perform two master- pieces:
Wolfgang Ama- deus Mozart's Sonata KV 304 (300c) and Ludwig van Beethoven's famous Romance Op. 50 No. 2 (well-known years
ago for its use in a popular italian TV commercial). The pro- gram also includes Gioa- chino Rossini's "Un mot à
Paganini, Elégie pour vio- lon et piano" - a remarka-

ble and rarely performed piece by the composer best known for his operas - followed by "Thaïs" by Jules Massenet.
The concert concludes with a rare, virtually un- known work by 19th-century Italian master An- tonio Bazzini, "La Ronde
des lutins", where the vio- lin moves beyond its evo- cative role into a more onomatopoeic and "play- ful"
style. The concert will take place at 8:00 PM in the Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli Hall at the Conservatory.
