Varese is set to host a high-profile musical event featuring the European Philharmonic Orchestra and celebrated pianist
Andrea Bacchetti.
On Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 5:00 PM, the "Conti" Auditorium at the Malipiero Municipal
Hight School will host a concert blending great classical repertoire with deep philological research curated by Maestro Marcello
Pennuto.
The centerpiece of the evening will be Haydn's Piano Concerto in D Major, a cornerstone of the orchestra's repertoire,
further explored through this collaboration with Bacchetti. The program also marks a significant milestone in the Mozart project:
the performance of Symphony K 135 and, for the first time, Symphony K 18. The latter, originally attributed to Carl Friedrich
Abel, was transcribed and almost certainly modified by a very young Mozart, bringing the total number of Mozart symphonies
performed by the Varese ensemble to 59.
Andrea Bacchetti, who debuted at just 11 years old with I Solisti Veneti, brings to Varese a wealth of experience gained
on the world's most prestigious stages, from Lucerne to Tokyo. His presence adds to the long list of distinguished soloists who
have collaborated with the European Philharmonic Orchestra, a mainstay of the local cultural scene for 35 years.
The event is sponsored by the Municipality of Varese. Tickets are priced at 10 euros (single seat), with a reduced rate of 6 euros
forthose under 25. Tickets can be purchased online via the "ooohevents" platform or directly at the auditorium box office
on the day of the concert, starting from 3:00 PM.
