17th CONTEMPORARY MUSIC CYCLE

The prestigious Italian pianist Andrea Bacchetti will be the star of this event in the Música Actual cycle of Badajoz, organized by the National Center for Musical Diffusion (CNDM) in collaboration with the 24th 'Esteban Sánchez' Piano Cycle. Renowned for his sonic refinement and the depth of his interpretations, Bacchetti has performed in the major concert halls of Europe and Asia and is considered one of the most versatile performers of his generation.

His recital proposes a broad journey through the history of keyboard music, featuring works from Johann Sebastian Bach's The Well-Tempered Clavier - in dialogue with Ferruccio Busoni's transcription of Ich ruf zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ - to the sonatas of Domenico Cimarosa and Domenico Scarlatti, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Fantasia in D minor, and the more intimate pages of Franz Schubert and Franz Liszt.

The program also ventures into the 20th and 21st centuries with pieces by Claude Debussy, Luciano Berio, Filippo Del Corno, and Heitor Villa-Lobos; a mosaic that reflects the richness of contemporary languages and will allow the audience to enjoy Bacchetti's unmistakable sensitivity in a repertoire that combines lyricism, virtuosity, and experimentation.
