PRESS REVIEWS 2017

Bordighera - on Sunday, 8 January Andrea Bacchetti will be in Bordighera, a musician who is so different from everyone else, to be considered widespread even an "abnormal pianist". Andrea Bacchetti has always gone against the grain ... He is able to conciliate high-level and popular music with the same mathematical attention, and a recognisable attitude that does not hesitate on sentimentalism as much as on absolute respect for the piece to be interpreted. ... Although he is an extraordinary Bach interpreter (there is no a pianist who did not try to emulate his interpretations), he has in his usual repertoire Schumann, Beethoven, Chopin, Berio, Brahms, Skrjabin, Prokofieff, Rachmaninoff, Gershwin and Debussy; but he also played impressive jazz, chamber music concerts, and with Antonella Ruggiero ... Therefore, a purist who also looks for contaminations to spread music, his great love. ...

... Antonella Ruggiero's voice does not live up to her audience's expectations, she comfortly flaunts her clear timbre, that made her really famous, in a continuous equilibrium between interpretation and Baroque virtuosities. A continuous duet between his voice and the piano that sometimes seems a duel, sometimes a proper pas de deux. Her meeting with Andrea Bacchetti's piano is creative and refined. ...

However, these two musicians get perfectly along with each other, so they bounded in a duo which is achieving a success after the other ...

I'm for a not-indiscriminate openness to pop music. I know I don't have it in my DNA, but I let the choice to the player»
