The most loved among Italian contemporary violinists, Uto Ughi, triumphed last night in concert at the PalAntonello (Messina) with eclectic Andrea Bacchetti. It was a great success also for the Philharmonic Academy of Messina in its Concert Season, that was unified with the Bellini Association. A triumphal concert by Uto Ughi, whose charm and communication skills enchanted the Palacultura Antonello audience yesterday evening, performing with piano Maestro Andrea Bacchetti. Full to the brim theatre and standing ovation. In the context of unified Messina Philharmonic Academy season, the yesterday event was more than a simple concert. Maestro Ughi flaunted a splendid condition, rather was really in seventh heaven, proposing some great classics of virtuosic repertoire for violin, from the "Devil's Trill Sonata" by Tartini, a passionate work that was written by the magnificent composer after the devil appeared in his dream, to the Spanish rhythm of Rondo Capriccioso in A minor by Saint-Saëns. Exclusively for Messina and Sicily, the artistic team ended with the rip-roaring fantasy of pieces from Bizet's Carmen that were transcribed by Pablo de Sarasate, «the Spanish Paganini», as Uto Ughi highlights. At last he gifted two surprises: "La Campanella" by Paganini (Violin Concerto No. 2) and "The Dance of the Goblins" by Bazzini, Scherzo fantastique Op. 25 that was composed by Paganini's unique pupil.

On the piano Andrea Bacchetti, an extraordinary and eclectic thirty-eight-year-old musician who switches from amazing concerts in the most important Italian theaters (as Teatro La Fenice, Venice and La Scala, Milan) to tv shows with "Chiambretti Night". The pianist created a perfect blend with the international violinist. An exceptional duo, a team of two great soloists who showed an exquisite understanding, also lavishing moments of authentic poetry in the very famous Beethoven "Spring" Sonata. Wonderful interpretation also in Popular Spanish Suite by De Falla.

Strong generosity by Maestro Ughi who realized a splendid lesson-concert for 700 enthusiastic students from various Messina schools yesterday morning at Teatro Vittorio Emanuele.
