Also in his long militancy on Bach's music, Bacchetti has never tried to make the piano seem an harpsichord, to reproduce on modern keyboard the phrasings and the dynamics of ancient instruments.
His one is a eighteenth century filtered by a pianist's sensitiveness. So the use of pedal, even used with extreme measure, phrasings with long span, large use of “legato”.
However these Galuppi's sonorities like it happened for Bach and Cherubini's sounds are smooth and bright, almost immaterial into a sonorous universe of pure beauty...
With Bacchetti Galuppi's keyboard music seems to get a new life; under the Genoese pianist's fingers it is a real sound dusting: there are the virtuosity
of the touch, of the phrasing and of the slight timber variations ...

Andrea Bacchetti's original travel through keyboard rarities of Italian eighteenth century continues...
The same refined and immaterial touch of Cherubini CD. The same brightness a bit veiled by melancholy.
